BY Group and Hatanga Ltd were proud to support the annual Gala hosted by the Solomon Islands Australia Alumni Association (SIAAA) as Gold Sponsors, celebrating the strong and growing network of Solomon Islanders who have studied in Australia and continue to contribute to national development.

The evening brought together alumni, government leaders, development partners and private sector stakeholders, highlighting the importance of partnerships that strengthen leadership, education and professional collaboration across the country.

Representing the Solomon Islands Government was Hon Kathy Nori, Minister for Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs, alongside Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, Franco Rodie, who attended with his wife Patricia Rodie, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Humanities at the Solomon Islands National University.

Also in attendance were representatives from the Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands, including Acting High Commissioner Andrew Schloeffel and Acting Deputy High Commissioner Lindsay Buckingham, with some of their valued colleagues.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, more than 100 alumni gathered for an evening of connection and celebration. Guests were treated to vibrant entertainment by the Kirio Dancers, with the highlight of the night being a special performance by Pacific award-winning artist Jaro Local.
