Eastern Border Outpost Handover

The Hatanga-BY Group Partnership proudly handed over the refurbished facilities at the National Disaster Management Office and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force Station in Lata, Temotu Province. These facilities have been delivered under the Solomon Islands-Australia Defence Cooperation Program.

Delivered as part of the First Works Package at the Eastern Border Outpost, this project supports critical infrastructure in one of Solomon Islands’ most remote provinces—enhancing national disaster preparedness, national security & community safety.

The successful completion of these works reflects the strength of local partnerships, community collaboration, and a shared commitment to building lasting value across the Pacific.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Temotu Provincial Government and community for their support, as well as to the Australian Government and Defence Force for their continued investment in Solomon Islands whose support is empowering key institutions and national security. We also extend our acknowledgements to our dedicated local team, for their professionalism and care

As part of this visit, we also announced our continued sponsorship of the 2025 Tinakula Festival—which took place recently, celebrating Temotu’s culture, creativity, and identity.

Together, we are living up to the words in our national anthem: Joy, peace, progress, and prosperity.
